How do I properly cover my tank’s filter with mesh to protect my fry??
Two of my guppies are going to have their fry soon I think and I’ve heard it’s a good idea to cover the filter with mesh. I have the kind that hangs on the side of the tank. Do I just cover up the entire filter with a piece of mesh? This is going to sound silly but could I use pantyhose or is that not hole-y enough and would this affect the filtration?
Try a piece of panty hose, I know it seems weird (if your a guy). Just use a rubber band around it and voila !

A fish tank filter can be one of the most important parts of your fish tank, especially when it comes to keeping the tank clean and fish healthy. Often not even will notice how well the equipment is working unless it stops working. Once the filter stops working, waste can build up quickly and things can start going downhill quickly.
Types of Filters Tank Probably the most common type of filters you see at discount stores is the filter the box. These two hung inside or outside the tank, and usually have a coal cleaning cartridge in the main draw. The tank water is circulated up the box through the filter and then down into the tank.
They are rather slow, but steady and can be found fairly cheap. They are not the best aquarium filter you can buy, but can do the job, are readily and easily available. Another type of filtration equipment is a filter that covers the bottom of the plant aquarium and then covered with stones. In theory, rubble and other debris are filtered out after they reach the bottom of the tank. These are really good and looking for work quite well but not as well as filters deposit box.
There are plenty of instructions on how to create your own filters as well, and these can be the best tank filters you can find. Wet / dry tank filters sit on the edge or the edge of the bowl. The tank water is slowly running through the filter media, which may be one of several types. Since air and water mixture, along with the media filter, water filters and chemical processes occurring several. This is probably one of the best ideas aquarium filter, and is fairly easy to do at home.
Directions can be found easily online, and often buying materials for the filter is cheaper than buying a ready made wet / dry aquarium filter. Cleaning equipment and the filter is a vital component of the fish tank. Not only clean water, but also allows more oxygen to be mixed with water. Fresher, cleaner water helps to maintain healthy fish and help them live more time. A filter tank need not be a very expensive, which makes the competent work can be used and doesn not have to be the top of the line.
